ABOUT THE ZERO to THREE Growing Brain – Birth to Age 5 Professional Development Training Program

  • The Growing Brain curriculum translates complex concepts in a way that is digestible, is meaningful and relevant, and provides a range of interactive exercises that enable participants in this training to integrate and apply these concepts in their daily work supporting young children – in short -it engages the participants’ brainpower in active learning! “
  • “A consistent focus throughout TGB is on the growing field of – the science of emotions and the brain – “affective neuroscience” – and how the earliest interactions shape lasting patterns of relatedness. “
  • “Throughout the seven units, particular attention is paid to the role of caregiving relationships and emotional regulation.  Participants are encouraged to pause, watch, and notice how the child’s responses to their world, and a child’s behavior is one of the best windows into brain functioning.”
  • “The Growing Brain is a cohesive curriculum of seven units -- that science has firmly established that all areas of a child’s development are interconnected – each affecting the other.”  Bohlander, A. Lerner, C., & Thompson, R. (Eds.). (2017) The growing brain: from birth to 5 years old: A curriculum for early childhood professionals. Washington, DC: ZERO TO THREE
